Protective Factors Against Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can have lasting impacts on physical, emotional, and mental health. However, research shows that protective factors can help mitigate these effects, fostering resilience and promoting healthy development. This three-part presentation series explores key protective factors that support children and families in overcoming the challenges associated with ACEs.

Part 1: Parental Resilience

Parental resilience refers to a caregiver’s ability to manage stress, recover from challenges, and effectively care for their children, even in difficult circumstances. Strengthening coping skills, promoting self-care, and building emotional well-being in parents creates a stable and nurturing environment for children.
